01 — THE PROBLEM

Choosing a career from a leaflet.

The labour office’s counsellors advise young people entering the job market, but a job description can’t show what a day at work actually feels like. The pilot programme “Widzę siebie w tym zawodzie” (“I can see myself in this job”) set out to change that with VR: watch real people at work, then try the job yourself.

Everything shipped in two languages, Polish and English.

02 — THE BUILD

    Film real workplaces, not studio sets

    45 VR films were shot at major employers in Podkarpacie and Mazovia, including LOT, Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport, Strabag, Asseco, Pilkington, BWI Group and the Clinical Provincial Hospital No. 1 in Rzeszów: paramedics, pilots, programmers, carpenters, train drivers and more.

  2. Car body painting task from the VR car mechanic simulator

    Several tasks per profession, not one

    Each of the 7 apps splits a job into separate simulations. The car mechanic app has an inspection, a tyre change and body painting; the beautician app has manicure, laser hair removal and botox. 18 tasks in total, from welding and electrics to driving a forklift, crane, excavator or road roller.

    Difficulty levels with a virtual assistant

    Easier levels add hints and a virtual assistant that explains each step. Finishing a task gives a score and feedback on how well the profession suits the player.

A pilot worth over 1.1 million zł, launched in October 2022. Licences and materials went to county labour offices across the region (including Rzeszów, Krosno and Sanok), and a follow-up added 52 more VR films and 52 virtual internships.
