01 — THE PROBLEM
How do you show a building that no longer exists?
Lesser Lithuania was a historic region in north-eastern Prussia, home to a Lithuanian-speaking population. Several of its buildings once stood on the grounds of the Museum of Folk Architecture in Olsztynek but no longer exist. The museum wanted visitors to see them again, and to imagine everyday life inside.
02 — THE BUILD
Three decisions that brought the past back.

Four buildings, digitally reconstructed
Four historic structures were rebuilt as 3D models, including parts of the Pempen farmstead and a fisherman’s cottage from Gilge.

QR codes where they once stood
Codes placed around the museum grounds trigger each model, so visitors see the buildings in context as they walk the park.

Look into every corner
Visitors can walk around and look inside each building, including the original farm equipment, to picture how people lived there.
